To commemorate the forthcoming Easter holiday, the Aldgate Connect hosted a fun Easter egg hunt. It is an event to explore the Aldgate and tour the area using scavenger hunt-style clues, with a chocolate surprise at the end. The guests must then follow the ten clues to the finale for a chocolate surprise.

The First Egg Hunt Clue

For the first egg-shaped clue, the event was held at the Dorsett City Hotel on Aldgate High Street. We were required to look for a 'little bit of Latin America,' which was a really ambiguous instruction.

Along the route for the second clue, we noticed intriguing sights, such as the Aldgate Pump, a pump for fresh drinking water that has been on the site since the 13th century. It has also served as a beacon for tourists to east London.

When we were at the second clue, the little bit of Latin America turned out to be Caffeina Latina! We were then told to proceed to this beautiful new community hub through the bus terminal.

And then, after a few minutes of wandering, we were able to discover the third clue, which was 'near fine Italian wine squeezed in next to Hoops & Grapes'.

Afterwards, it didn't take us long to figure out where the fourth clue was hidden. We were told to look for handmade Italian pasta at Sfoglia Bologna al Mattarello.

Along the way, we passed by interesting Italian restaurants and wine shops, such as Satyrio, as well as Spanish bars and restaurants, such as Barcelona Tapas.

Next, at the fifth stop, we were told to look for the next clue in Harrow Place, which is full of excellent eateries.

After that, we understood that we needed to head to Wentworth Street for the sixth clue. A street that has a variety of eateries and cafés along the roadway. Another fantastic location to relax with a cup of coffee or enjoy a snack to keep hunger at bay while hunting for egg clues.

Next, we were told to head to Resolution Plaza, located on Old Castle Street, for the seventh clue.

After visiting Old Castle Street, we discovered the following clue, which was to visit Big Moe's, a famous American diner.

Finally, we received a sweet surprise in the form of lovely egg-shaped chocolate.

Much later, we were able to see these lovely artworks.

The journey was both interesting and enjoyable. The event's organizers did a fantastic job putting together a really enjoyable Easter egg hunt. It's not too difficult, but it's also not too simple. A clever approach to take a tour through Aldgate, with some very fascinating locations to see and some great eateries along the way.
