Imposter 22, based on a concept by Hamish Pirie, explores the difficulties of having a disability in a society without disabilities. The investigation notion makes for a whodunit element in the play's first act, which is skillfully and fast-paced. The play looks at themes of belonging and identity while leaning on a murder mystery plot that calls for audience engagement and participation. It employs a fresh method for presenting the backgrounds and difficulties of its characters while emphasizing complex layers of power relationships that are pertinent to modern audiences.

The writer carefully depicts the idealized world of the neurodiverse community as a utopia with issues of their own that invade and complicate. To witness a production that boldly embraces the unique talents and perspectives of their actors is invigorating especially in a world where "normal" is often the only accepted form of existence. We need people that challenge the status quo.

The acting in Imposter 22 is outstanding. Each member of the cast gives a nuanced and compelling performance, portraying their characters to life with authenticity and depth.  The non-professional actors, which are sponsored by an acting company program, with learning disabilities in the play, is innovative, marking a departure from mainstream theatrical conventions. The set design is modest, yet effective. The unadorned atmosphere the characters are enveloped in only serves to accentuate their detachment and highlight the stark contrast between their internal strife and the outside world.

The centerpiece enigma is cunningly interlaced with whimsicality, adding a delightfully funny tone that sets it apart from other productions. Its astutely crafted plot presents a unique spin on the murder mystery genre. The standout characteristic of this play is its laid-back performance style. Having someone on stage to feed the actors their lines, if needed, prevents the play from taking itself too seriously, creating a unique dynamic between the actors and the audience. The actors' impeccable comedic timing and their ability to portray the characters' quirks and tics earn high praise and are worth noting, making this a truly enchanting and engaging performance.
