As part of the London Craft Week, Arlo & Jacob, a British furniture maker, collaborated with Amelia Ayerst, the founder and Creative Director at DUO-HUE, a new design firm.
Arlo & Jacob is a modern furniture company with a long tradition of fine craftsmanship. Their experienced product team designs all of their furniture in-house – and occasionally in collaboration with famous designers and interior specialists. Arlo & Jacob design, hand-make, and deliver upholstered furniture with a difference from their British workshop.
Guests were to able to explore DUO-HUE's creative embroidered artworks and freshly made woven blankets and cushions with Arlo & Jacob's handcrafted couches at their Islington shop.
DUO-HUE is a unique digital embroidery stitch created by Amelia Ayerst at the Royal College of Art (RCA). It combines complimentary color-ways and various stitch densities to produce a color-morphing effect as the object moves.
Amelia Ayerst has experience in CMF design (Colour, Material and Finish). Previous projects include collaborations with Preistmann Goode and exhibitions at Somerset House during Design Week. Her most recent collaboration was with Dyson on an automotive project.
Amelia's DUO-HUE works on products with like-minded designers, with an emphasis on commercial and residential interiors. All of their lovely works are created, developed, and embroidered in Bristol, England.
