The ROKSANDA shop at 9 Mount Street in Mayfair, designed in partnership with Sir David Adjaye OBE, serves as a creative exhibition space for new and established female artists and producers, fostering creativity in different areas and underlining the brand's ethos in supporting women. As part of the event dubbed 'Conversations in Form and Composition at ROKSANDA' in the recently concluded London Craft Week, a collection of pieces by female ceramist Bronwen Grieves were shown throughout the ROKSANDA shop.

ROKSANDA, 9 Mount Street

Grieves, a mostly self-taught artist, creates and fires all of her work in her Nottingham garden studio. Her works attempt to mix rigidity with fluidity, employing organic and inorganic shapes as a reference point, and are inspired by her enormous collection of mid-century modernist artifacts. She has been honing her technique as a ceramist by incising horizontal or vertical lines on flat coils before joining them together.

Furthermore, she typically works with grogged stoneware in black and white, with glaze applied sparingly and frequently confined to slips that are partially wiped away to reveal the texture and color behind. Grieves' creations, which had never been seen before, lend a profound feeling of history and attention to workmanship to the store.

On the other hand, Roksanda has developed a distinctive woman-centered design style within the luxury fashion sector in the decade since she launched her business. Roksanda crafts elegant pieces that speak to the ROKSANDA woman's individuality while also creating a sense of shelter and protection, with the goal of challenging the concept of beauty via a balance of contrasts.

Roksanda's hallmarks throughout ready-to-wear and accessories are bold use of color, sculptural forms, modern unique cuts, inventive use of textiles, and a committed concentration on workmanship. Her fondness of enormous, sculptural sleeves and her strong use of color are inspired by her memories growing up in Serbia, while expressive and dynamic prints are shaped by modern and contemporary art inspirations.

Roksanda's involvement in the contemporary art scene has led to significant partnerships with organizations including the Josef and Anni Albers Foundation, Studio Voltaire, and artists Eva Rothschild, Rana Begum, Ella Kruglayanskaya, and Tai Shani. Roksanda encourages an interdisciplinary approach to her work, blurring the barriers between the many creative fields of art, dance, and fashion, as seen by her numerous partnerships and her Mount Street store during London Craft Week.
