First, we learnt a little bit about Ferragamo's origins and its founder. From his early days in the 1920s, Salvatore Ferragamo's work was marked by a passion for materials. He felt that any material, even the most basic and seems unsuited for a luxury firm, could be beautifully and artistically adapted, when the thoughts that are tied to the materials and design are driven by great technical skills and talent.
Recently, the company has begun to manufacture products using organic cotton, sustainably sourced viscose, and recycled and regenerated materials such as nylon, wool, cashmere, and silk, with the goal of fostering circular economy and introducing responsible, innovative, and high-quality materials.
Moreover, Salvatore Ferragamo has always had a strong connection to the world of art and culture and inn keeping true to that, they often choose to share some of the unique and beautiful ways in which their models are clad. Through something as simple as wearing a scarf, they do not shy away from showing some of their much-coveted skills.
The silk specialists were happy show us how to wrap a scarf in such a way as to highlight its various features, such as the shape of the neckline, the print, the fabric, the colour, the pattern, the shape, and the length. It was an enthralling exhibition of skills and talents, and a fascinating insight into how Salvatore Ferragamo designs its scarves as well as the myriad ways of styling them.
