Exhibition

Engage in an emotional experience, get in touch with the past, and discover the true story - a voyage through the entire story of the Titanic that took place in London for the first time!

Titanic: The Exhibition is more than just a collection of artefacts: it's a story about the individuals who sailed on history's most famous ship on her maiden and last voyage. Photographs, handwritten notes, lost treasures, and other personal artefacts transport you back to 1912, revealing many stories of the fates and heroic deeds on board.

Artefacts Recovered from the Titanic

Over 200 unique artefacts, many of which have never been seen in the UK, are on display. Connect with the passengers of the Titanic by listening to their accounts and learning about their lives via their possessions. As you tour life-size, realistic recreations of the ship's interior, you'll see the striking contrast between a luxurious first-class suite and a lowly third-class cabin.

Moreover, this experience differentiates reality from myth like never before, thanks to the contributions of historians and Titanic specialist Claes-Göran Wetterholm. The highlight of the exhibition is that an audio tour will walk you through the events of that tragic day in 1912 in a narrative format. The narrator is a multilingual audio guide who uses music and sound effects to bring each historical story to life. You will discover the Titanic's genuine narrative as you travel through time, bringing you closer to the ship's myths, legends, and glitz.

Overall, I was hoping for more fully constructed sets of what it would be like to be aboard the Titanic. But seeing a lot of artefacts and reading a lot of personal tales from those aboard the ship was still good enough and incredibly informative. It focused on many groups of individuals and provided excellent illustrations of the types of experiences that people had. They gave a very touching and dramatic narrative from the third, second, to the first class.

People had several authentic items from the ship, such as retrieved personal belongings. It was fascinating to go along the hallway that gave you the impression of being on the Titanic. The thing that struck me the most was how fresh everything was and how well adorned and constructed everything was. For instance, everything seemed like a gorgeous piece of art, such as the various dining tables, chairs, and other furnishings.

I had expected fully built sets of what it would have felt like to be on titanic, but it was still good and quite informative and interesting to see a lot of artefacts and read a lot of personal stories of individuals who were on the ship. It went on different classes of people and gave you good examples of what kinds of experiences people went to from third, second, and first-class. It was a moving and powerful story that they told.

There were a lot of original artefacts of the ship that people had, mostly personal possessions that had been recovered. It was really interesting walking in the hallway that gave you the feeling of being in titanic. What struck me was that everything was new, decorated and crafted with great expertise and craftsmanship. Such as the different dining tables, chairs, and stuff like that. Everything was like a beautiful work of art.

It was a great exhibition because you could go around at your pace with an audio-guided tour through the app on the phone. You listen to the story as you go along. It was moving and quite important that we were still paying tribute to the tragedy, and it really reminds us that even though it looks so powerful, it doesn't mean that it can't be brought down.
